Smart Cat Ultimate Scratching Post

Mickey, my cat has also reviewed this product. Find out what he has to say, click here.

Smart Cat makes an excellent sisal scratching post called the Smart Cat Ultimate Scratching Post.My cat is going to be one big cat. He's big already. He needs a sturdy scratching post on which to stretch out on and to climb. This post has a height of a glorious 32" for him to stretch on. And he loves it!

The Smart Cat Ultimate Scratching Postis made out of sisal material. The post itself doesn't look bad at all. You can even put a plant on the top for it to double as a plant post. Because of it's wide base, it won't topple while the cat scratches it. Mine is sturdy even with my cat climbing on it.

Smart Cat also makes a perch that you can attach to the post so your cat has a place to sit and watch things go by: Post Perch with Pad for Ultimate Scratching Post.It comes in regal red!

Swheat Scoop Natural Wheat Cat Litter

The clay litter makes me sick, and silica will irritate my lungs and so I'm left with natural alternatives to traditional cat litter. Which works for me since I like the smell of the stuff much better.

I'm currently using Swheat Scoop Natural Wheat Litteras my cat litter. Swheat Scoopis made out of wheat, so if you have an allergy to wheat, then this litter will obviously not work for you.

I really like it for its practically dust free nature. My cat no longer leaves little dusty pawprints everywhere.

It covers odors really well. But you have to follow the directions. It says to scoop twice a day as well as to have at least 3 inches in the litter box. I have maybe about 2 inches and so my cat will dig until he's reached the bottom of the box and then he relieves himself. This does cause this litter to turn into a mushy pile at the bottom of the box as others have noted about this litter. But if my cat doesn't dig all the way to the bottom, then the clumps are well formed and tight. Not as tight as clay, but tight enough.

I think out of all the litters I've tried, he likes this one the best. Swheat Scoop has small grains and so it is easy for the cat to pick it up on it's way out of the box. But they seem dense enough to fall off with a few steps. I only see tracking a few steps away from the box.

Considering that it covers odors really well, it smells good, and it's practically dust free, I can live with the mushiness at the bottom when my cat decides to dig all the way down and the little bit of tracking it has. Overall, it's a good litter that I would recommend to people and cats without wheat allergies.

As a side note, for rabbits that are litter box trained, this would probably work really well too.

World's Best Chrome Cat Litter Scoop

I have a cat, a medium-long haired cat. He's black and white. I've named him Mickey. He's a real sweet and clumsy cat. Falls off of everything. He's an indoor cat. And that means, litter box cleaning for me. I clean twice a day; once in the morning, and again in the evening.

So, needless to say, I needed a good litter scoop seeing that I scoop that often. I've used plastic scoops before but I would always cringe after using them since I'd have to go and clean in between the grooves to get stuck on poop and litter off. It was disgusting!

After having taken enough of that, I went in search of a scoop that was easy to use, strong enough to scoop lots of litter (Mickey's a large cat with a jumbo litter box), and easy to clean.

I shopped around and bought several kinds of scoops including the World's Best Chrome Cat Litter Scoop.I was pleasantly surprised and happy that the World's Best Chrome Cat Litter Scooplived up to its name.

Made out of metal, the World's Best Chrome Cat Litter Scoopis strong enough to scoop through lots of litter. That's a good thing since my cat loves to bury his 'things' at the way bottom of his box . . . The best part of the scoop is that all it needs for cleanup is a simple wipe with a non-bleach cleaner or simply hot water. Just a wipe and the scoop is back to looking like new. And for a scoop, it's not a bad looking one at that.

Since this scoop is round, it works really well with the Booda Dome litter boxes since they're round too. Square boxes would be trickier to clean with this scoop. When I find a really good scoop for rectangular boxes, I will post it here.
